Sounds in the quarry, a portrait of Matteo Salvatore Jazz and other music genres concerts used to be played in the Apricena limestones quarries during late summer nights. The whole series of concerts played in 2006 was dedicated to Matteo Salvatore (a singer and songwriter born in Apricena, whose carrier spanned between the 1950s and 1960s).
I was given the task to create a big portrait of Matteo Salvatore, to be set next to the stage. This painting was shown on several occasions afterwards and hosted at the cultural centre of Apricena known as “Casa Matteo Salvatore“ (Matteo Salvatore home).
